Fantastic Sam

Check it out y'all. Sam rocked the pine wood derby. If there is one thing Sorensens are serious about, its derbys. Grandpa Jim got out all his derby stuff and worked over Sam's car. He had five boys and they each had two cars every year, so this guy can make a derby car. Sam got 1st place in our derby and 2nd place at the district tournament.
Sam and Ethan at the district tournament. I think Sam is excited about his trophy. It is all about the trophy, right? Sam also recently earned his yellow belt in Karate. His teacher said he had a surprise for the kids if they passed their test. When Sam came home that night, I asked him what the surprise was, He said (laughing really hard), "He punched us in the stomach". Sam is so much more confident this year and I am so proud of him. He is so sweet and helpful and is always my defender. Josh was telling the kids on Sunday that EVERYONE was faster than mom at getting ready for church and Sam said, "well it would take you longer too if you had a baby to take care of". He says that kind of stuff all the time and it is really cute. If the girls are disappointed or pouting about something, Sam tries to make it alright and explain things to them. I honestly can say that this kid does not pout--like EVER. He is just a happy go lucky kid. I love you, Sam!
