George W. Bush

I am really sick of everyone throwing George W Bush under the bus. He is a superb president and an outstanding individual. He restored integrity, honesty, and hope to the White House. Have we all forgotten what he has faced these past 8 years? 911, Hurricane Katrina, a War, and a huge economic crisis. He has rose to the challenge as a leader and defender of our nation in the midst of crisis. He isn't afraid of what the opinion polls may say (obviously), as He acts and does what he feels is best for this country. He is brave, loyal, and decisive and I want to Thank him for his faithful and selfless service to our country. "I believe that freedom is the deepest need of every human soul."--George W. Bush

Amy, your blind allegiance to George is a big mistake. He's a nice guy, but he's a liberal dressed up in a conservative suit. From No Child to today's "bailout," Bush has consistently pushed for bigger and bigger government. When asked why he left the Democratic Party, Reagan replied that he didn't leave the party; the Democratic Party left him. Under Bush's leadership, and now continued with Maverick and Goose (McCain and Palin), true conservatives are starting to feel the same way that Reagan felt oh so long ago. I normally wouldn't assail the President, but the bailout has me pretty riled up. Vote Bob Barr, the only true conservative!

By the way, glad to see that you and the fam are doing well. Take care.

Garrett Darling, you rock, but I must rebut: Turn off talk radio! I would normally agree with you and the rest of the thousands of swearing/pissed off conservatives calling our office wanting my boss's head on a platter, but this time I really believe that you have to put your ideals and distain for stupid wall street/banking folks and uninformed home buyers aside and put America First. This crisis began long ago with Clinton(surprise) when he pushed for the equality in lending act and put pressure and threatened penalties when the lending institutions wouldn't give unqualified home buyers a loan they couldn't afford. With the credit market building false hope and screwing with supply and demand, Wala--we have an unstable market and a lot of people whose retirement is held up in these mortgage backed securites. I just don't think it is fair that people set to retire in the next 5 years watch their nest egg dwindle because of mistakes that are not their own. neither do I want to see small business owners, farmers, and the like not be able to keep operating because of a credit freeze. Fundamentally I am with you that the inefficiencies of government should stay out of the free market, but I along with my boss felt no other way out of this mess that the government helped create. It wasn't a bill that Bush or the rest of the conservative world who voted for it liked or wanted to pass, but they really had to do what is right here. How is that for an ear full?? I must say as a debater that I was unimpressed with Palin's skills at the debate though. There were several arguments that flowed right through to Biden because she just left them hanging and talked about something else. However, I happed to also know that 95% of what Biden said was a line of BS. I think he actually said that they want to push for nuclear and clean coal in the same sentence! Does he think we are stupid? CHEERS
