My Month Long Reading Marathon

This is a great book. 3 stars out of 5. This guy came and did an in service to the teachers in our district and in Blackfoot. My mom and Josh thought it was excellent. He is an ex military man who has done a ton of research on violent T.V./video games and its link to violent kids.
This was a sarcastically funny memoir. It was an easy read and the thoughts inside Jen's head were pretty funny. I give it 2 1/2 stars out of 5.

This is my latest book. I just finished it this morning. I loved it. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. Great messages, riveting stories, and intriguing characters. It made me so mad reading about her parents and their selfishness, but at the same time, they were such smart and insightful people, their children couldn't help but turn out better. It is a memoir of her life. Highly recommend.

This book gets 4 1/2 out of 5. I have been meaning to read it for a while now. It came highly recommended. It is the story of Jacob/Israel told through his only daughter, Dinah's eyes. After finishing the book, my mom and I got out the bible and read Genesis and were amazed that a lot of the stuff really happened the way the book portrayed it. I love historical fiction, it is a really great way to bring history alive.

This was the most fun out of all the books I read last month. 4 out of 5 stars. It is set in the future in what used to be North America and there is the capital city, which controls all the districts. Each district every year has to send one boy and one girl to play in the Hunger Games and the last one alive wins. It was an easy, contagious read that I could not put down. I read it one Saturday.

This was also a GREAT book. I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. I learned more from it that any other book I read this month, but it was not the fascinating page turner the others were. I am a better person for knowing more about the history of South Africa and it does tell the story in an appealing interesting way. Great lessons, great history, and captivating story.

I love to read, but usually only do so when I am in a reading mood. I have definitely been in one this last little while. Thanks to Angie for the invite to the book club, which brought Cry, The Beloved Country and The Hunger Games to me and for getting me excited and hungry to soak in literature. I think I am going to read The Host next. I have had it for a while and haven't cracked it yet, but I loved the Twilight Series and my mom insists that The Host is even better. CHEERS!!

I'm so glad you are coming to book club, you are such a great addition! We read Glass Castle a couple of years ago and I loved it too, it is still one of my all time favorites! I'll have to read The Red Tent, sounds interesting! Have you been to the gym lately? I've been such a slacker!

My word you busy reader! I'm glad to have a few to put on my summer reading list... Now, go get Jodie Picoult's new one: HANDLE WITH CARE. It was good. I read one book and about 300 essays this month, my reviews would not be nearly as entertaining!
